  About the Artist

Company owner/designer, Alysse Hennessey, passionatly hopes to create jewelry that connects the wearer to the natural world.  Her work is influenced by hikes, bird songs, flea markets, world travel, and fueled by her own natural curiosity and a love of animals.  She creates her images in layers that include goodies like vintage animal paintings, old french lace, star charts, music sheets.

Before Nettles, Alysse worked in costume design for the stage and screen and as head designer for an international charm bead company.  She invites you to become part of the Nettles Jewelry family.

Alysse resides in a lush Oregon valley, with her two sons, where they are often spotted hiking with Jack the tiny dog, playing ukulele, baking treats, and snuggled up in front of the big window with her coffee.

In 2015, she began exhibiting her paintings and has added a line of jewelry featuring her painted works.

"I have to say, in our short 12 years of having the store, you really stand out as being an amazing artisan to deal with....may I go on about your virtues for a moment?  You reply promptly and personally to all orders, you ship quickly, your photos and descriptions on the site are clear and complete, your pricing is great, orders arrive when you say they will and I don’t think there has ever been an issue with any of them, you provide us with extra retailer tools like the image only-website to view with our customers, you send regular updates to keep the contact fresh and create new designs to keep the collection interesting....There are so few artisans out there that tick even half those boxes.  You inspire ME to do better in our metalwork business :)  So thanks for that...and please quote me if you like! Looking forward to fresh work in our gallery." -Heather Zondervan, Styll Gallery, Ontario Canada

"I'm reordering already.  Our customers love my Nettles Jewelry shelf because your work is gorgeous and orginal and they love the natural animals." -Georgia LTD, Idllwild California

"We have carried about 75 different jewelry designers in our gallery over the years, and none have offered marketing materials as beautiful as Nettles."  -Eric, long time buyer.

"I have to place your work out where my customers can touch them.  I love to eavesdrop as they turn over every peice to see the backside then comment on what they find.  And you know.... once a customer starts engaging with a line of jewelry, they are likely to buy.  The work makes a lasting impression on them."

"Alysse,  just received my order earlier this week.  The pieces are stunning - even more spectacular "in person" than in the photos.  I think they will do really well in my shop.  Thank you!" - Sally
